The Family Megachilidae (Hymenoptera: Apoidea) In Pollination Ecology- a Review

چکیده

Family Megachilidae belongs to cosmopolitan family groups, making nests in the soil, and mostly prefer pre-existing cavities such as pithy stems, galls, dead wood for nesting. Mostly they are solitary, long-tongued, have pollen-collecting structure scopa present on ventral side of abdomen rather than hind legs (mostly other bees). Genus Megachilid is generally known leaf cutter mason bees. characterized by different groups bees mason, resin, carder, leafcutter bees, most important pollinators agricultural, horticultural, medicinal, aromatic plants. Female a special character form brood cells using their mandibles cut leaves. found throughout world except Antarctica, lowland tropical rain forests, deserts, hilly ecosystems, 238 species listed from Indian region. Our review based significant role adaptive structures behaviour enhance contribution pollination ecology.
